One day a man called Jack set off to a village. Jack had blue eyes, brown hair and he always had a smile on his face.

When he got to the village, he was carrying a lunch box. Jack sat down, found some sticks and lit a fire. When he got the fire going, he put the pot on it and put in half a litre of water and three gold coins.

Village people gathered around and one boy said, “Is it ready yet!”

Jack said, “No, but I do need some chocolate, if you can, can I have some?” So the boy ran off into his house and got some chocolate and gave it to Jack. Jack cut it up into sections and put it into the pot.

Now this time, a woman came up and said, “Is it ready now”

Jack said, “No but, I do need some apple.” So the woman ran back into her house and got some apples. She came back and gave it to Jack. He cut it up, put it in the pan and mixed it all about.

This time a man said, “Is it ready now?”

Jack tasted it and he said, “It’s ready.” And people tasted it and they ate it all up. Jack went over the big hill and went to the next village.
